CRIME: Insurance executive Alberto Izaga held over child beating

A high-flying businessman is in police custody today after a two-year-old girl was left fighting for her life with head injuries, police confirmed. The man was named in reports as Alberto Izaga, 36, a senior executive of insurance giant Swiss Re. Officers were called to a home in upmarket Albert Embankment, on the bank of the River Thames near the Houses of Parliament in central London at 8.30am yesterday. It is understood the girl was injured in a domestic incident. STILL / block of flats
