CRIME: Illegal trade in disabled parking badges revealed

An ITV News investigation has revealed an underground trade in disabled parking permits. Able-bodied people are buying the permits for large sums to escape parking fees and the congestion charge or to park more conveniently. It is estimated that up to 80 percent of disabled badges are used illegally and in some areas, 1 in 5 car break-ins are due to thieves stealing the permits. Stolen badges can fetch up to one thousand pounds on the black market.
