The mother of two British children killed by carbon monoxide gas in Corfu is preparing to travel home with their bodies.Sharon Wood, 35, will fly back to the UK with her daughter, Christianne, seven, and six-year-old son Robert. They were found dead in a holiday bungalow at their four-star hotel after fumes from an apparently faulty boiler in an adjacent room leaked inside. The children's father, Neil Shepherd, 38, remains seriously ill after he and his girlfriend, Ruth Beatson, were also poisoned by the gas.Mr Shepherd is conscious but is still in the intensive care ward of the General Hospital in Corfu. Doctors are agonising about when to tell him about Christianne and Robert.Ms Beatson, 27, who has been moved into a regular hospital room, is expected to continue her good recovery, Ioanis Manzaropolous, the hospital's manager has said. The island's chief of security, Dimitris Bineris, has visited Ms Beatson and told her that no stone will be left unturned in the police inquiry.Mr Bineris said the police investigation is continuing and officers are working closely with the British Consul and English liaison officers from Scotland Yard.He added that toxicology tests are still outstanding and will take at least another seven days to be returned from the Greek mainland.
