Colombian singer Juanes presents his new album, "La vida es un ratico" (Life lasts for just one moment). After enjoying great success with his album, "Mi Sangre" (My blood) and giving 170 concerts in 31 countries during 19 months, Juanes performed the first single, "Me enamoro" (I fall in love) of his new album "La Vida es un ratico" (Life is just a moment) on Wednesday (August 29). The new single will be played simultaneously on radio stations and on the internet in 77 countries around the world next Tuesday (September 4). Juanes said that his music is now evolving. "The song, "La Camisa Negra" has met with its purpose, now I will take my music to a different place, and the songs in this album have other elements that "Camisa Negra," did not have. I think that this album marks a difference and evolves," said Juanes during the presentation of his new album in the capital city of Bogota in Colombia. The single "Me Enamoro" is about an evolving love story, according to Juanes. A new phase is discovered on a daily basis and lasts forever. This song is the soul of the production and mixes guitar rock and pop music from the 70s with Colombian music. "When I listen to the song "Me Enamoro" (I fall in love), I love it because the song says a lot and the music, most of all the lyrics are very touching. Juanes has made me fall in love with him, yes," said Juanes' wife Karen Martinez. After developing his own style, eight years after leaving the group "Ekimosis" to launch his solo career, with this album Juanes manages to consolidate his musical tastes. Juanes composed and wrote all the lyrics to the songs in the album. He postponed all stage presentations to dedicate himself entirely to his new production. The artist said that he came up with the name for the album after a long conversation he had with his mother. "I believe that it's important because I came up with the title of the album after a conversation I had with my mother. My mother is 78-years-old. I had this conversation with her when I was going through a crisis and we were going through a rough time in my family because one of our relatives had just passed away and my mother made me realise that life goes by very quickly. She said to me: 'Life lasts for just one moment, don't worry about things that are not worth worrying about,'" said Juanes. Several times Oscar and Grammy winner, Gustavo Santaolalla, produced the album with Juanes, who recorded some tracks in his own recording studio located in the mountains of Medellin, Colombia. The instrumental sounds, such as drum, base and keyboards were recorded in Los Angeles, California. After undergoing marital problems with his wife Karen Martinez, it seems that the separation period is over and the couple have decided to give their marriage another go. Karen attended the presentation event. The album "La Vida es un ratico," is set to hit shops next October.
