Coldplay's works of art

Coldplay have been inspired by their album cover for the promo videos for their new single Viva La Vida. The cover is taken from the memorable painting Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix, which commemorates the July Revolution of 1830. The first video, directed by Hype Williams, shows the band performing and merging into graphics similar to the painting. Meanwhile, the second video from Anton Corbijn shows Chris Martin wearing a robe and crown and walking through streets and on the beach carrying the Delacroix painting. The video is reportedly inspired by Corbijn's own video for the Depeche Mode track, Enjoy The Silence.
