Circular reasoning saves Cheney

July 2: The Department of Justice will not look further into the FBI's investigation of Dick Cheney's role in the outing of Valerie Plame as a CIA agent because it doesn't want to discourage officials from being forthcoming in future investigations, which, following the logic, would also discourage cooperation so they probably shouldn't happen either.
