Chinese graduate murder trial

A man is due to go on trial accused of murdering two Chinese graduates. Guang Hui Cao, 30, is accused of killing Xi Zhou and Zhen Xing Yang, both 25, at their flat in Newcastle on August 7 last Mr Zhen's body was found on a bed in the rear bedroom of the property while his girlfriend was discovered on a bed in the front bedroom. Both Mr Zhen, also known as Kevin, and Miss Xi, known as Cici, were graduates of Newcastle University where they had both completed MA degrees. After graduating Miss Xi worked as a waitress in a city centre noodle bar. Guang, of Castle Close, Morpeth, Northumberland, who denies two counts of murder, faces trial at Newcastle Crown Court before Mr Justice Wilkie.
