X Factor fans were said to have triggered a diplomatic row over their noisy gatherings outside the Chinese embassy. The embassy is next door to the London base of the ITV show's contestants. But it has now emerged that the Chinese ambassador to Britain, Madam Fu Ying, is a huge fan of the contest and enjoys watching it at every opportunity. In an extraordinary step for a representative of the People's Republic, Madam Fu has written a public letter talking of her love for the programme and has even given her thoughts on each contestant. She praised twins John and Edward - aka Jedward - for their "determination and spirit". The diplomat went on to tell how she believes Stacey has been more and more brave and that Olly and Danyl are great showmen. Lloyd and Joe on the other hand, she said, have only got potential. She also revealed that her own daughter had asked if she could fly into Britain to join the dozens of teenagers outside the property in Golder's Green. Reports had suggested that Chinese officials were unhappy over the constant noise and graffiti but the ambassador writes about how excited she was after learning the contestants were being housed in the neighbourhood. She said it was fun finding herself caught up in X Factor fever and reading about the the so-called diplomatic row.
