China protest over Dalai Lama visit

The Dalai Lama has held a mass audience with tens of thousands of devotees on a visit to a region near India's border with Tibet drawing protests from China.More than 30,000 people packed into grounds near the remote Tawang monastery in the northeast Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh to hear the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader.China, which claims Arunachal as its own territory, has condemned the week-long visit.The Dalai Lama insists his visit is "non-political".The BBC's Sanjoy Majumber explains the significance of the visit.
