CHINA: President Hu Jintao speaks at the 17th Communist Party Congress

Chinese President Hu Jintao has said that the Communist Party he leads has fallen short of the people's expectations. Speaking at the start of the party's seventeenth congress, which takes place every five years, he also criticised officials who were extravagant, wasteful and corrupt. But it seems that party politics is far removed from the reality of many Chinese young people.
