Back in the early 60's Doug Thorley built a Chevy-II Nova into a 1/4 mile ground pounder. It captured the imaginations of a lot of people and as a young boy at captured mine. Someday - I will build a Chevy-II-Much like Doug's. This video highlights the final product of a two year project I nameed Chevy-II-Much as a tribute to Doug and his awesome car. This 1970 Nova SS was purchased as a PRO/Street car that we knew was good foundation for building the dream on. A lot of skeletons were chased out of the closets as we found the car was unsafe with only front brakes, worn out suspension and wiring that was just as happy to burn as it was to do nothing at all. All of that was to change as we disassembled the car and rebuilt it. The Dyer's Machine Shop blown 468 Rat motor was built specifically for this car and this purpose. It's designed HP was ~800 HP on pump gas to 1100 HP with the blower overdriven and 110 Octane racing fuel. As my dream car for close to 40 years, I would have liked to keep this car forever - but the reality was that I needed to move on to the next project. So - Here you're riding through the streets of South Minneapolis Minnesota in one of the most bodacious street machines I've ever built. At no time did I ever place anyone in danger. This car is very docile but will not tolerate more than 1/4 throttle in any gear as the 18.50x31 tires will not stay hooked up. Get them hot and it's wheelie time. Enjoy the video.
