Cameroon return home after World Cup qualification

The Cameroon football team has received a hero's welcome after qualifying for the World Cup in South Africa. The Indomitable Lions will make an African-record six World Cup finals appearances after beating Morocco 2-0 away on Saturday with goals from Achille Webo and Samuel Eto'o. "I've already said a big thank you to all the people of Cameroon. We are all very happy," captain Eto'o told reporters at the airport. Cameroon had been bottom of the group standings in mid-year, leading to the firing of German coach Otto Pfister. His replacement, Frenchman Paul LeGuen, has engineered the recovery, appointing Eto'o as captain and winning four successive qualifiers to ensure top place in the group.
