BUSINESS / FOOTBALL: Liverpool FC agree takeover bid by American businessmen

Liverpool FC, the most successful British football club of all time, is being taken over by overseas business tycoons, as previously happened at clubs Manchester United and Chelsea. American businessmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks have agreed a deal to buy out chairman David Moores, whose family has been involved in the club for decades. Their most important task will be to fund Liverpool's new Stanley Park stadium.
