BUSINESS: Barclays bank has agreed merger deal with Dutch financial company ABN Amro

Barclays Band has agreed a merger deal with the Dutch financial giant ABN Amro. The tie up would create the fifth largest bank in the world, and require Barclarys to move its headquarters to Holland. But major hurdles still need to be negotiated before it goes through, with the Royal Bank of Scotland considering a counter bid, and regulatory approval required in 70 countries. The deal could lead to nearly thirteen thousand job losses.
