The government has announced a new strategy against the use of computers and technology by criminals and terrorists. A new operations centre to counter cyber crime will be set up alongside the government's monitoring base, GCHQ at Cheltenham.Gordon Brown said the government was responding to serious threats and that "British people need protection" from them.The prime minister, speaking on a visit to a London consultancy dedicated to tackling the cyber threat, said that the strategy would help Britain "lead in the digital revolution".
