U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown spoke about his policies at the ruling Labour Party's conference in Bournemouth, England, this week. U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling defended the government's response to the credit freeze that led to the bailout of Northern Rock Plc.
