Brown's cabinet reshuffle: Johnson to be Home Secretary

Health Secretary Alan Johnson is to become the new Home Secretary in Gordon Brown's reshuffle, according to sources. Mr Johnson replaces Jacqui Smith who was one of five key Cabinet members to announce their resignations this week. John Denham is to replace Hazel Blears as Communities Secretary, sources said. It is thought that Chancellor Alistair Darling will remain in his post despite speculation that Mr Brown wanted to shift him elsewhere. And Ed Balls, who was linked to the Chancellor's job, is to remain as Schools Secretary, sources said. Sources are also indicating that Jack Straw will stay as Justice Secretary.
