International superstars gathered for "Germany's answer to the Oscars" - the Bambi awards. Britney Spears joined the likes of Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, Leona Lewis, Meg Ryan and Keanu Reeves for the 60th annual awards held in Germany. Spears, was presented the prestigious media prize in the Pop International category by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. According to German publishers Hubert Burda Media Group which hosts the event, "Spears is back, more shining and better than ever before." "The former teenie model has reclaimed her throne," the group said. Dressed in a tight black dress and wearing a top hat, Spears posed for cameras with her award after performing her latest hit Womanizer. Leona Lewis also performed at the event and was given the Shooting Star award. World champion Lewis Hamilton, received the Special Prize from the Bambi jury for his "charisma and his youthful charm which made him the new superstar of Formula-1." "I think this is my first award I'm collecting since after the last Grand Prix," Hamilton said on the red carpet. Since 1948, Bambi each year "honours people who have especially moved and elated the German audience with their vision and creativity," according to the Hubert Burda Media. Past Bambi award recipients include former US President Bill Clinton, former German tennis star Boris Becker, boxing legend Muhammad Ali and numerous actors, including Michael Douglas and Harrison Ford.
