BOSTON, Mass. (AP) - BOSTON (AP) -- One Boston firefighter is dead after the ladder truck he was on crashed into a high-rise apartment building on Huntington Avenue. Several other firefighters were hurt and some children in the building were treated for minor injuries. Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald says the truck came down a steep hill and went through an intersection before slamming into the building. Dozens of firefighters bowed their heads and held their helmets over their hearts as the firefighter's body was carried from the wreckage and placed into an ambulance. The firefighter's name was not immediately released. A spokeswoman for Boston Emergency Medical Services says one firefighter was hospitalized with serious injuries and three others with minor injuries. Three children who were in a computer learning center on the first floor of the building were treated for minor injuries at Children's Hospital and released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
