(Greg Wayland, NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Boston Police are promising to correct a mistake by a 911 dispatcher after it took 35 minutes for officers to respond to an elderly man who was attacked on a city street. The bleeding victim was kept waiting Sunday because the dispatcher assigned a low priority to the call. Police Commissioner Ed Davis has apologized to the victim. The dispatcher will be retrained and possibly disciplined, according to a police spokeswoman. This is the second serious 911 mishap in the last few months. read more
