Illusionist David Blaine is embarking on yet another death-defying stunt, way above the streets of New York.The mystical magic man is suspended in a giant gyroscope over the city and he has until 6am on Friday to escape from the contraption.He is being sponsored for the stunt by US retail chain Target and, if Blaine is successful, they are giving 100 disadvantaged children the chance to go on a shopping spree in one of their stores.Not only will he be constantly spinning in the gyroscope, but he has only one layer of clothing to protect him from the freezing New York winter.Blaine told reporters: "I think its for a good cause so every hour that I'm here and every day I know that I'm achieving a goal so I'll get through it like I always do it."He has previously endured days balanced on top of a 100ft pole, trapped in a water tank and encased in a perpsex box above the River Thames in London.© Independent Television News Limited 2006.
