The Big Brother housemates have been told of Michael Jackson's death after a visitor broke the news on entering the house. Federico Martone - a 29-year-old former waiter from Glasgow who competed in Big Brother four - returned to the house to compete against Noirin as part of this week's Shopping Task, celebrating ten years of the show. He let the news slip to Noirin and she went to the Diary Room to seek Big Brother's permission to tell the others. Noirin returned and said: "Big Brother said I can tell you. For me this is a really big deal because I loved his music but Michael Jackson has died. He was an icon of my time." Siavash Sabbaghpour said the news "makes you realise all the things that are happening outside". The housemates then became angry and Lisa said Federico "shouldn't have told us". And Rodrigo added: "One of the most important and famous singers, who everyone loved, has died. I am upset, now we will just think about this." Meanwhile, the bookies are backing Karly Ashworth to make an exit from the house in Friday's eviction. The 21-year-old glamour model and Noirin each received five nominations from other housemates, putting them up for the public vote alongside Sophie "Dogface" Reade and Siavash Sabbaghpour. Ladbrokes puts Karly as the clear favourite for eviction, partly because of her friendship with the unpopular Lisa. Dogface and Siavash were dragged into the eviction battle because of their failure to curb their bad language. The pair had been ordered to stop using expletives for five-and-a-half hours as a punishment for discussing nominations, but proved unable to do so. Freddie "Halfwit" Fisher received no nominations from his fellow housemates, making this the first time he has not faced the public vote since the show's first week.
