ARTS: Simon Sainsbury's bequest gifts 18 paintings to Tate and National Gallery

2 British art galleries have revealed that they have inherited 18 works of art worth up to 100 million pounds. The legacy of Simon Sainsbury, to be shared between the National Gallery and the Tate, is the largest art bequest since the early 20th century. Some of the private collection, which includes paintings by Gainsborough, Degas and Monet, have never even been photographed in colour before.
