ARTS: Literature: Terry Pratchett wins Carnegie Medal

Terry Pratchett is something of a publishing phenomenon. He's written forty eight books, which have sold more than twenty seven million copies in twenty nine countries across the world. It's rather a surprise then that he's only just won a mainstream literary award, even more surprising this author of science fiction picked up the Carnegie medal for a children's novel. LITERATURE NOTE: this is a digitized version: for original record and tape details see T12070217
