Animated Pictures using After Effects

This is the introduction to a tribute video I put together for my brother's 18th birthday party. Using Adobe After Effects, I was able to animate pictures without having to use Adobe Photoshop. The process involved creating two mattes (the original photo + the photo with just my brother cut out). Overlapping the two pictures in the After Effects project allowed me to animate each photo to make it appear as if my brother was jumping out of the photo. The hardest part of this process was erasing the background around my brother. Once that was accomplished, the possibilities that could be achieved were endless. I posted this video to show some of the neat things you can do with After Effects. Music: "Hoffa End Credits" - David Newman
