
(NECN/TV Azteca) - Andres has weakened to a tropical depression a day after becoming the first hurricane of the Eastern Pacific season. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Andres' maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph. Forecasters say the system is expected to continue weakening and dissipate later Wednesday or during the night. The depression is centered about 130 miles west of Cabo Corrientes in Mexico and about 230 miles southeast of the southern tip of Baja California. The depression is moving northwest near 9 mph. read more
