Lily Allen has been reunited with her dog that was nicked just before the New Year. The 21-year-old pop star was left distraught after her English bull terrier Maggie May was stolen from a friend's van and had offered a reward. But she received a call last night from a man claiming to have bought the dog as a present for his sister, Allen revealed on her blog. Her friends went to meet the man and handed over the cash reward in return for the dog.But she added: "Once Maggie had been handed over, the young men and woman offered to sell more puppies to my friends which made us realise that these people were obviously in the business of moving dogs."Now I feel guilty for having given these people money and contributing to their cruel business but I love that dog and felt I had no choice."Allen added that the police and RSPCA are now involved. She wrote: "I can't tell you how overjoyed I am to have her back, how grateful I am to everyone who has sent kind words and helped to find her."Allen, daughter of actor Keith Allen, was on holiday in Jamaica at the time her dog was stolen from the van in Forest Gate, east London. She said: "This has been an awful experience and people who are accusing me of neglecting my dog in some way are distressing and hurtful."© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
