Afghan opium 'causes global chaos'

Afghanistan provides 92% of the world's opium, with devastating global consequences, according to the UN.A report published by the organisation suggests an estimated $160m of drug money is available every year to support terrorist activities and Taliban militants.The head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Antonio Maria Costa, told the BBC it would be cheaper and more efficient to tackle the problem in Afghanistan than in the countries where the drugs end up.
