Adam Brody In the Land of women interview 3

Adam Brody In the Land of women interview 3 DESCRIPTION "In The Land of Women" is a new movie with Adam Brody that highlights the heartache of love among both the young and the old. This is the first film for director Jonathan Kasdan, son of Hollywood screenwriter, Lawrence Kasdan. In "In the Land of Women," Adam Brody plays Carter Webb, an upcoming television writer living in Los Angeles who feels like his whole world is falling apart after a tough parting of the ways with the girl he believed was his true love. After being dumped in a North Hollywood coffee shop, Carter decides to take a break to regroup from the trauma. So, he escapes from L.A. by suddenly hitting the road and heading thousands of miles away to Michigan to care for his ailing grandmother (Olympia Dukakis). Soon after he arrives, Carter becomes entangled with the problems of the family across the street, befriending first the mother (Meg Ryan) and then the daughters, Lucy (Kristen Stewart), and Paige (Makenzie Vega). When asked what compelled him to get involved with the project and ultimately play the lead character, Brody said it was the partly autobiographical screenplay, written and directed by good friend, Jonathan Kasdan. "Well I thought it was a fantastic script first and foremost," said Brody. "And it's a really nice character piece, where there's five main characters that are all richly drawn, so that's a rarity, so um, as an actor it's a joy to open up a script and see that much dialogue." Kasdan says he was so certain that he wanted the star of the popular television drama "The O.C." to play his character, that he placed the entire production on hold for eight months, until Brody became available. Meanwhile, Kasdan managed to pull together a cast that Brody admired. "Well you're definitely instantly influenced by other actors you're doing the scene with," shared Brody. "And the better actors you do the scene with the better you're going to be. I'm fortunate, I was fortunate enough to, on the television show I did, really most of the work I have done has been with really good actors, so I don't recognize the disparity between the quality of actors on the films I have worked on versus television. But, um, that said, there are some great performances in this movie and anytime you get to bounce off that it only benefits you." Prior to "In The Land of Women," Brody starred in the movie "Thank You For Smoking," which also featured Katie Holmes. With the film completed and set to be released in less than a week, the 27-year-old San Diego, California native seems to be taking a break from his busy acting schedule. "My current project is hanging out in my backyard. And the future is, uh, uncertain." "In The Land of Women" was shot on location in the city of Victoria, on Vancouver Island in Canada. The film opens across North America on Friday (April 20).
