21 Jump Street, "The Currency We Trade In"

Penhall and Fitz make a great undercover arrest and are then promoted to Major Crimes as Detective Trainees. Their first case is an alleged child molestation. Penhall is devastated to learn that an idol, sports columnist Jeff Logan, has been accused of molesting his daughter. Penhall and Fitz interview Logan's estranged wife, Elizabeth, and the victim, Molly. From the Deputy D.A. Penhall learns that the examination of Molly showed no sign of trauma and that in order to successfully prosecute, they will need a confession. Penhall arranges to arrest Logan on Friday night so that he will be in custody all weekend, giving Penhall time to "work on him."
