Description:
We sincerely appreciate your interest and hope that you find the u8 world to be as fascinating as it was for us to create it. Our mission is not to endorse organized crime or violence, but rather show the dynamics and depth of the characters whose lives meet because of their involvement or eventual involvement with the Yakuza. Moreover, we strive to tell a true love story between a husband and a wife that is strengthened from distance and growing void. u8 is also a story of sibling rivalry at an extreme where the love and acceptance from a father becomes a daily battle.
u8 is the saga that follows the lives of the most powerful family in the Yakuza organization and in organized crime, the Tadaharas, an International CIA agent from Korea, Jun Tae Park (Jun), as well as another International CIA agent from America and his expert criminology advisor, also from America.
From its inception, u8 has always been a love story. At the core of the story is the love between Jun and his wife Ji Hyun Baek, the love that he has for the son he never met, and the growing paternal love he has for Mizuki (a.k.a. Kim Eun Hee & Kimono Girl). When Jun is forced to leave his family for occupational obligations, the marriage is strained but actually strengthens.
u8 is also a story of honor, loyalty and betrayal. The Tadahara family lives and operates with dysfunction but is anchored with cultural tradition as their ancestors were once noble Samurai. The Tadahara Yakuza's attachment to their history also elevates their resentment and retaliation towards anyone who betrays them, especially when it's a brother.
The world of u8 spans generations and centuries dating back to before the fall of the Samurai and generations into the future. It primarily focuses on the present family and events but also gives insight to historical relevance and highlights the beauty of Asian and European cultures as the world of u8 is global.
