More than 80 guests attended the First Annual Los Angeles Organizing Awards, presented by the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO-LA). The event was held in the Grand Ballroom at Maggiano's at the Grove in Los Angeles and was attended by local organizing professionals, vendors, and members of the media. National bestselling author Julie Morgenstern was in attendance and was the winner of the award for best book on getting organized. In addition, a total of fifteen awards were presented at the event, which completed the 2006 National Get Organized Month festivities. The evening celebrated outstanding contributions to the organization and productivity profession. Recognition to the media, authors, organizing products, organizing retailers, mentors, charities, and technology providers were just a part of the evening. Other annual chapter awards were presented, including the prestigious Leading Edge Award, which is given in recognition to a NAPO-LA member whose actions and efforts have elevated the quality or profile of professional organizers.
